Phil Ivey has been referred to as the best poker contender on the globe by most of the top-ranked pros. He was born in Riverside, CA and moved to Jersey before reaching the age of 1. His grandfather introduced him to one cent-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From then on on, Phil was hooked on poker and wished to pickup anything he could about the game. Phil routinely would tell his elders that he was planning on being a professional poker player. Phil didn’t permit the detrimental comments from others annihilate his goal of being one of the best poker players on the planet.

Phil began competing intently after acquiring a fake ID by the name of Jerome. He honed his techniques at the poker rooms in Atlantic City. The beginning number of years for him were a learning period and coming away with a win wasn’t a normal outcome at the time. He became known at the 2000 WSOP when he achieved 2 final tables and came away with his 1st World Series of Poker bracelet, in a two dollar, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha match. Phil made a decision to take his skills to the next level and headed out west to Vegas. Phil continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players in the world. Phil credits his achievements to dedication and an undying love for the game of poker. He states that he is picking up skills every single day and is incredibly abashed about his achievements. He admits to making mistakes in each session of poker and constantly aspires to improve.

Despite the fact that Phil has won some big tournaments, he prefers destroying money games on a normal basis.
