Phil Ivey has been branded as the greatest poker competitor on the globe by many of the top professionals. He was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to Jersey before reaching turning 1. His papa taught Phil one cent-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From then on on, he was addicted to poker and wished to pickup every little thing he could about the game. Phil routinely told his grandparents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil didn’t let the detrimental feedback from others destroy his ambition of becoming one of the best poker competitors on the planet.
He started playing seriously after acquiring a false ID with the name of Jerome. He practiced his techniques at the casinos of Atlantic City. The initial number of years for Phil were a learning period and coming away with a win was not a regular thing at the time. Phil made his mark at the 2000 World Series of Poker when he achieved 2 final tables and came away with his 1st World Series of Poker bracelet, in a $2, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the closing table he destroyed quite a few of the better known pros including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
He made a decision to take his skills to the successive level and moved out west to Sin City. Phil continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players in the world. Ivey credits his achievements to dedication and an undying passion for poker. Phil says that he’s learning every day and is incredibly humble about his accomplishments. He knows he makes mistakes every single session of poker and always strives to improve.
Even though Ivey has come first in some big-time tournaments, he likes destroying money games on a normal basis.
