NL Texas Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been labeled as the greatest poker competitor on the globe by most of the top pros. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and moved to New Jersey before his first birthday. His grandfather taught him penny-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From that point on, he was addicted to poker and wanted to discover whatever he possibly could about the game. He routinely would tell his elders that he was going to be a professional poker player. Phil did not permit the negative feedback from other people kill his dream of being one of the best poker competitors on the planet.

He started competing seriously after getting a fake ID by the name of Jerome. He practiced his techniques at the poker rooms in Atlantic City. The initial number of years for him were a teaching experience and winning wasn’t a normal outcome at the time. Phil became known at the 2000 WSOP when he made two final tables and came away with his 1st WSOP bracelet, in a $2, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the last table he destroyed many of the well known pros which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

He decided to take his game to the successive level and headed out west to Sin City. He continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players on the planet. Ivey credits his success to dedication and a continuing love for poker. He says that he’s picking up skills every day and is quite abashed about his accomplishments. He admits to making mistakes in each session of poker and always aspires to improve.

Despite the fact that Phil has come first in some large tournaments, he likes winning money games on a normal basis.
