No-Limit Texas Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been referred to as the best poker contender on the globe by many of the top pros. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to NJ before reaching the age of one. His grandpa taught him penny-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From that point on, he was hooked on poker and wished to learn every little thing he possibly could about poker. He routinely would tell his elders that he was planning on being a professional poker player. He did not allow the adverse comments from others destroy his ambition of being one of the best poker players in the world.

Phil started playing seriously after acquiring a fake ID by the name of Jerome. He honed his skills at the poker rooms of Atlantic City. The first few years for Phil were a learning opportunity and winning was not a common outcome at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 World Series of Poker when he made 2 final tables and came away with his 1st WSOP bracelet, in a $2, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha game. At the final table he defeated a number of the well known pros including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

He made a decision to take his game to the successive level and headed out west to Sin City. Phil continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players in the world. Phil credits his achievements to dedication and a continuing passion for poker. Phil says that he is learning every single day and is incredibly abashed about his success. Phil admits to making errors every single game of poker and always aspires to get better.

Despite the fact that Phil has won some large tournaments, he prefers winning money games on a regular basis.
