The Importance of Poker Seating

Hold’em is all about players and position. All rounded Texas Holdem enthusiasts agree that seating in no cap Texas Holdem is fundamentally important. Showing your hole cards in late spot might be a great deal more profitable than in early poker spot. This is because much more data is assembled prior to acting.

As an example, I was playing a $1-$2 no limit money round at a local poker room. I bumbled in with 2, 9 unsuited on the croupier button, just to see a little action. Flop came down A-A-4. A player in starting position placed a fifteen dollar bet. 2 entrants fold and it was now my turn. I should have dropped out, but his action seemed a little odd. I ID’d this person as a weak-tight bettor, and usually if he had the biggest hand he would simply check, so I called.

The turn showed with a 7, meaning it was a A-A-4-7. My challenger placed a further bet of $20. I hesitated a little bit, but made a decision to re-raise a further $30thirty dollars on top of his $20. He folds and I take the pot.

Betting at last spot allows you an idea where you stand by seeing how players react and wager. On the flip side, people at starting position may use their poker spot to check-raise the late positioned competitors and corner them later at the end. In Texas Hold’em, both ends, late and starting should be bet cautiously.
